Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery 2
The Laurel Outlook reports that work has begun on the new Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery. The design (pdf) will meet the standards set for national veterans cemeteries.
Here are some “before” pictures of the area if you’re interested.
It’s wonderful to see the largest county in the state stepping forward and honoring its veterans. The only other veterans cemeteries in Montana are in Helena and Miles City. I haven’t visited the Helena cemetery but I have visited the Miles City one and it is a beautiful facility. It will be nice to see the Yellowstone County cemetery when it is finished.
Kudos to The United Veterans Council of Yellowstone County and all of the hard work they have put into this project.
