This is a new movie complex on what is now the far West End of Billings: Off Shiloh Road and King if the former ever comes back into use. Will we be able to count these jobs as “saved?” Pretty snazzy on entrance and very steeply graded in the actual theatres so that you don’t have to look around the ladies hats in front of you. Reminds me of some of the old theatres in the West End of London. Why couldn’t we do that at Dehler Park? Hmm.

We saw Julie & Julia, probably worth seeing just because of Meryl Streep’s version of Julia Child.

And the actual Julie of Julie & Julia still writes a blog and says something on the matter mentioned in the movie and discussed in the LA Times article, i.e. the relationship or lack of it between the blogger Julie and the cook book writer Julia.

While I am cogitating: How come all our movie theatres get built on the West side of town? Don’t the good folks of the Heights ever go to movies?

The wife and I went to see Clint Eastwood’s very nice Gran Torino late Sunday afternoon. I was surprised that it wasn’t mentioned in the Oscar show. It was a well-crafted good v. evil show with a reasonable approach to truth and a nice twist to the ending. Clint Eastwood as a Christ figure. Wow. What’s next?

Indian housewives in Chennai discussing Slumdog Millionaire

I’m fairly sure you will enjoy Slumdog Millionaire. I recommend it for an enjoyable couple of hours. You can take the kids too. There is a review of this movie here with some other pictures taken in India a few years ago.
